v2.0 released!
Today I'm excited to release a significant update to Coyote, which includes lots of loose ends I've wanted to add for some time now to bring this game up to modern standards.
I originally made Coyote in 2009, using Adventure Game Studio. I was pleased with it, but AGS only allowed me to ship to Windows in 800x600 resolution at the time. So in 2018 I ported the game to Unity during RemakeJam2. But when the jam was over, I had a lot of things I still wanted to do to improve the game, but I had to move on to other projects. Recently though, I found some spare time to indulge myself, and I've gone back and remastered the game in the way I had originally intended - and even some ways I hadn't intended; #scopecreep 🙈
This update includes:
- New character sprites and animations
- Full voice acting
- More interactions
- Edited and/or added dialogue lines
- Quest tracker UI
- Improved visual quality and shadow rendering
- Adjusted camera angles to better frame the environments
- (Optional) widescreen letterboxing for that spaghetti western feeling
- Option to adjust resolution
- Option to enable large text in the UI
- Improved responsiveness of the cursor
- Support for Xbox and Playstation controllers and Steam Deck
- Significant technical optimizations
- Some minor bugfixes
I hope you enjoy it!
